Mature

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

I’ll ban the word mature. For it is heavily misused to this day.

“Oh you’re quite mature for your age!”

Or is that you have been robbed of your childhood and forced to be an adult here and take responsibility for actions you did not cause.

“Be more mature. Stop acting so foolishly.” To a person who was just having fun being themselves, ‘and’ not harming anyone.

Why? Why do we have to look out and be mindful of others, even when it has nothing to do with others? Stop enjoying ourselves only because someone else cannot, and thus they are getting annoyed.

I’m only about when the word ‘mature’ is misused. There are times when you’re supposed to act mature and learn something instead of just doing whatever you want.

But don’t ruin it for those who are trying to have fun, and be a little silly.
